Amazon Prime

July 13th, 2013 at 02:34 am

So, anybody else watch their TV sort of through online streaming, like Netflix?

Anyways, it turns out that Amazon has been competing in that space as well, and what's interesting about their offer (Amazon Prime) is that it not only offers a bunch of live streaming shows (with a bunch of kid shows if you have small kids), but it also offers unlimited free shipping for anything you order from Amazon, and you also get to rent one free e-book per month if you have Kindle.

Cost is $79 per year, or comes out to roughly $6.67 per month, which is cheaper than Netflix as well.

So yeah, I'm going to give the 30 day trial a spin, and if I don't like it, I'll just cancel it before the 30 days are up.

I have Prime and I love it. I order a lot from Amazon (using what I earn on Swagbucks) so it is well worth it. You can split your subscription with family members, be sure to look into it to save a bit!

We haven't used prime because just not the shows we like (have to pay for the ones we do like, on Amazon). But, I think it just depends on your tastes. Netflix was more in line with what we wanted to watch.

When we first transitioned from cable we bought a lot of shows on Amazon ($1.89 per episode). Because were mid-season in some shows, etc. We haven't been buying any show lately now that we are all transitioned over, but it's another option.

We have had Amazon Prime for a year...and have started to use it more for streaming. And we noticed we aren't using Netflix like we once were, so I just cancelled it the other day. I do love the TWO DAY free shipping option.
