I sometimes wonder what life would be like if I had made a different choice. For example, I just happened to be thinking about this woman I once dated. She wanted to be more serious, but I ended up breaking up with her.

There was a lot of things that I liked about her, but there was many more that gave me pause. Chief among them was how she spends money (and other people's money like mine at the time). It made me realize that we were not at all financially compatible.

Money isn't everything, but being financially healthy is important, and there's no way I could have accomplished that if I chose to stay with her. From time to time, I have to remind myself that there are worse things than loneliness....
