Vandwelling

or the practice of living inside a van. From a financial standpoint, this has intrigued me as an option.

I know some have lived in one for years, but I wonder if it's possible to live in one... for decades? Possibly the rest of my life?

Certainly, it would be a cheap way to live. However, cheap isn't always frugal, and I wonder if this crosses that fine line?

I know it's pretty extreme, but right now, it's purely a theoretical consideration. I wonder if there's a way I can somehow make it work?

Would you live alone in the van?

How exactly would it work? You would park in campgrounds?

In a "regular" van? No. I mean, it would be possible, but it would seem to lead to a lot more frustrations than it would be worth. However, in a nicely-appointed, RV-style vehicle? That would be much more do-able. Of course, those things are not cheap, and fuel and insurance costs are to be considered. But I have seen some with a nice little kitchen, living area, shower, and cozy sleeping area. Not too shabby!

I think it is totally doable but remember your dreams and goals will change as you get older. Perhaps you will want to get married later on but for now it is a good way to save money. However, it's not worth it if you won't enjoy the lifestyle. Take it one week or one month at a time till you are sure that it is for you.
