Ran across an interesting picture set a little while back.

When I saw that, I felt incredibly fortunate about where and how I am living right now. It's really been an incredible blessing.

However... is it wrong that another part of me is thinking, "HMMM... I wonder if I can build something like that?" Hahahaha.

I mean don't get me wrong. I don't want to live in tiny run-down boxes, but it's clear that I don't have problems with small living spaces. In fact, to me, they're more like cozy and efficient.... Plus, small spaces don't have to look run down. Look at this nice airplane seat.

There's something appealing to me about the idea of being able to DIY my own dwelling.

I know. I am crazy. Crazy like a fox!

I suppose in Hong Kong these have risen out of necessity. I do wish local governments would be more supportive of small homes for homeless and lower income, or ANYONE that wants to live this way. Smile Some can be relatively inexpensive to build.

Have you ever considered those truck campers? The ones that sit in the bed of the truck. I saw one at an RV show this fall and it was small, but it did include kitchen and a bathroom. Yes, you would have to shower with the toilet, possibly sit on it.

Here is a link to one. Likely could find one of these used.

Thanks UI... quite the name you have there.

Yes indeed, ccf. As a matter of fact, there is literally a teardrop that is named after me! Or is it more like I am named after them? But yeah, some models even have a shower and a kitchenette. Crazy indeed.

I agree that tiny homes should be more supported, but some of those in the link look like death traps! Huge fire hazard not to mention shoddily constructed, and let's not even talk about the toilet in the kitchen. Scary example of "enterprising" people capitalizing on other people's desperation and flying under the radar of safety inspectors.

Ceejay, you are exactly right. This phenomenon of housing (or the lack of) is a disaster waiting to happen. Believe it or not, but those who can afford a bathroom space are actually considered lucky and wealthier as at least they have their own private toilet and sink. The rest have to share a bathroom like a public restroom with the rest of the residents there. It's actually quite insane.

A little small for my tastes, but it does look pretty luxurious.
